If your issue happens to be the same issue but with the subtitle box, you may be able to disable the subtitle box's background in DEF_UI's HUDSetup.exe. To solve the problem, I just turned off the tutorial box in the Fallout4.ini. The transparent box that I mentioned in the original post was the Tutorial Box in the HUD. So I am sure I will get there eventually, I just thought maybe some of you had come across the issue before and could speed up the process.ĮDIT: After flipping through the DEF_UI files, I checked out the HUDSetup.exe.

Does anyone have any thoughts? I will say that I am in the process of checking all my mods slowly. The box is still there and I can't find much else to work off of. I keep all my mods up to date so I didn't think that was the problem but it couldn't hurt. I haven't found much while Googling, except for a comment about it possibly being related to DEF_UI. I have changed nothing in my load order, I even started a new game to test, the problem literally just popped up. So far this issue hasn't appeared when running around with the weapon holstered although it shows up when a message pops up and then, luckily, disappears.
This appears while having my weapon out, ADSing, and while looking at interactable object to name a few. In the upper left hand corner of my screen, where the alert boxes are, I now have a much larger semi-transparent box that appears. I've recently encountered an issue(?) or at the very least an irritant. I plan to leave the original question and my solution in case anyone stumbles across it with a similar problem.
